Separate one-time and per-box charges
A useful comparison separates structural development, samples and tooling from recurring production costs where applicable. Then compare packing, freight and applicable taxes on the same basis. A lower unit price can exclude a component or charge that another quotation includes. Ask what changes on a repeat order and whether existing tooling can be reused.
Why order quantity matters
Material purchase, print setup, finishing dies and assembly preparation affect the feasible minimum quantity. Ordering several artworks in a combined total may still require separate setups. You can request matched quotes at quantities such as 500, 1,000 or 3,000 units to understand the cost change; these are comparison examples, not a published minimum or guaranteed production offer.
Ways to review the budget
Do not reduce the insert or board solely to reach a price before checking the loaded sample. The selected pack needs to work for the actual product and delivery route.
- Compare two opening styles using the same product and inside holder.
- Review whether a decorative effect is needed on every surface.
- Avoid unnecessary empty space after product fit is approved.
- Separate required protection from optional presentation components.
- Confirm all artwork versions early to reduce avoidable rework.
