Dense paperboard structures for magnetic, drawer, lid-and-base and collapsible presentation packaging.
Choose by function
Kappa board is a dense paperboard commonly used as the structural shell of rigid packaging. It is cut, assembled and wrapped rather than folded like a mono carton.
The finished result depends on more than board thickness. Construction, wrap, joint treatment, opening action, insert and decoration must be developed as one specification.
Four practical starting points
Construction, product fit and handling requirements decide the useful box family. Print and finish follow that structural decision.
A hinged presentation structure with concealed closure for kits, gifting and premium product sets.
A rigid sleeve and pull-out tray that creates a controlled sliding reveal.
A two-piece structure with flexible proportions and a classic lift-off opening.
A fold-flat rigid format considered where storage and assembly requirements support it.
Specification checklist
Naming kappa board is only the start. Finished size, joint construction, wrap and product fit determine the real box.

Buyer FAQ
Kappa commonly refers to a dense paperboard used within rigid-box construction. The finished box still needs a specific format such as magnetic, drawer or lid-and-base.
Some collapsible rigid constructions can fold for storage, while many kappa boxes are supplied formed. The choice affects joints, assembly and presentation.
No universal number is published because dimensions, construction, board, wrap, finish, quantity and production planning change feasibility.
A practical guide for your order
Kappa box is a commonly used buying term for a rigid paperboard presentation box. Printing Material reviews the actual board, size, opening style and artwork so the name becomes a clear manufacturing specification.
The thick core forms the box; the decorative paper covers it. Ask for the core thickness in millimetres and identify the wrapping paper separately. GSM means grams per square metre, not a fixed board thickness. A request for 2 mm kappa board still needs the box size, product weight and intended handling route to establish suitability.
Kappa board can be part of a top-bottom, magnetic, drawer or shoulder-neck design. The sleeve, neck, hinge, insert and decoration affect the finished pack and its cost. A photograph helps communicate the appearance but does not establish the hidden board grade or the production process.
For a custom kappa box quote, send internal size, quantity per artwork, wrapping paper, logo or printed design, inside holder and delivery postcode. Ask about sample and tooling charges. Minimum quantity and lead time are confirmed against that specification; a stock reference box and a new custom design can have different requirements.
