Top & Bottom Rigid Boxes Manufacturer | Delhi NCR
A top and bottom rigid box uses a separate lift-off lid and base. Also called a two-piece or lid-and-base box, it offers a simple opening for gifts, beauty products, apparel and presentation packs.
Discuss your boxRead the guide ↓Start with the lid depth and reveal
The lid can cover most of the base or leave part of it visible. That choice affects the look, the wrap area and how the customer grips the box. A shallow lid exposes more of the base; a deeper lid gives a different opening movement. The cream and burgundy example shows how a contrasting reveal can become part of the design. A visible inner neck may require a separate shoulder-neck construction rather than a basic two-piece box.
Choose the right version for the product
| Use | Design focus | Information to supply |
|---|---|---|
| Beauty or candle pack | Stable placement and lid clearance | Jar dimensions, cap height and weight |
| Apparel or accessories | Folded product fit and presentation | Packed dimensions, tissue and card allowance |
| Food gift assortment | Compartments and inner food packs | Count, individual pack sizes and handling needs |
| Jewellery or collectibles | Insert depth and removal access | Product or holder size and finish requirements |
What makes the fit feel right
Lid fit depends on the finished components, including paper wrap and lining. Too tight can make the lid difficult to remove; too loose can affect presentation and handling. Check the sample with the actual product and chosen insert. Describe the opening feel you want instead of specifying a universal gap that may not suit the selected board or box size.
Board and decoration choices
A large lid has a wider unsupported span than a small jewellery box. Product weight, box dimensions and handling therefore matter when choosing core board. Printing, foil, embossing, debossing and textured wraps can be considered after the structure is chosen. If colour or artwork needs to match between the separate lid and base, check both components together under the same light.
How to compare prices fairly
A top-bottom box may have fewer closure components than a magnetic style, but size, decoration and labour can still change the final cost. Confirm the full quotation rather than assuming one style is always cheaper.
- Use the same finished internal size and lid coverage.
- Keep the board, wrap and lining specification consistent.
- Include the same insert, tissue, card or ribbon components.
- Separate one-time tooling and sample charges from the unit cost.
- Compare the same quantity per artwork and delivery destination.
Approve the complete pack
Lift the lid, replace it and remove the product. Look at corners, wrapped edges and the visible base line. Check whether the product can move under the lid. If the presentation box will be couriered, review the shipping carton and protection separately. The lid alone is not a transit seal.
Questions before you order
Is top-bottom the same as shoulder-neck?
Both have a removable lid. A shoulder-neck box adds an inner neck or collar, creating a more specific three-piece structure and reveal.
Can the lid and base be different colours?
Yes, colour contrast can be part of the design. Supply separate artwork or paper choices and approve both components together.
What size should I request?
Give the usable inside length, width and height, or send the packed product dimensions and insert requirements so the size can be developed.
