SBS means solid bleached sulphate paperboard. It is different from a wrapped rigid/Kappa box and from corrugated shipping board. It can be printed, die-cut, creased and glued into a folding carton. The exact grade, thickness, stiffness, grain direction and converted structure matter alongside GSM. A white-looking carton is not proof of SBS: ask for the specified board grade in the quotation.
Share the product or primary pack, approximate quantity per design and delivery location. For a bottle or jar, include the cap, pump, wrap and filled weight. For a tray or pouch, measure the actual filled primary pack. Unknown measurements are acceptable for an initial discussion; final fit and pricing need a reviewed specification.
Discuss board options around 250, 300, 350 and 380 GSM, with other grades or higher grammages subject to sourcing and structural review. These are conversation points, not universal product recommendations or a live stock list. Printing, gold/silver foil, spot UV, embossing and lamination are separately specified. Premium finishing is not automatically part of a basic-box price.
First agree the contents, structure and information panels. Then review the dieline, board and finish layers, test a physical sample and confirm the quotation. Quantity per artwork, tooling, sampling, tax and freight should be visible in the written scope. Manufacture against the approved revision rather than a screen preview.
Define which layer touches the product, which provides a moisture/aroma/grease barrier, and which handles courier loads. An SBS retail carton does not establish those properties simply by its material name. Food, wellness, electronics and heavy-product projects may require a separate primary pack, holder or transit outer.

Share each product envelope, loaded weight and quantity. A folding carton may suit some formats while a rigid or corrugated alternative is more appropriate for others. No universal structure is assumed.
No. GSM is mass per unit area. Caliper, stiffness, fibre structure, grain direction and carton geometry also matter; check the selected grade and the packed sample.
No. That is a budget starting point to discuss for selected compact, simple cartons at suitable bulk volumes. Dimensions, board, print, variants, tooling, finishing and order quantity can change the price materially. Request a written quotation.
