SBS Box Pricing: What a ₹3–4 Starting Point Does—and Does Not—Include
A starting price is useful only when the carton specification is clear.
The scope behind the starting point
₹3–4 per box is a budget starting point to discuss for selected small, simple SBS cartons at suitable bulk volumes. It is not an online offer for every product, GSM, size or quantity, and it is not a commitment that your particular requirement qualifies. Ask for a written quote against your exact dieline and quantity per artwork.
What changes the unit price
The material area and sheet utilisation, board grade/GSM, printed sides and coverage, colours, finishing, die-cut complexity, glue operations and production quantity all affect the job. A wide carton can consume much more board than a narrow carton of the same height. A window, insert or extra compartment is a separate physical component or operation.
Gold foil, UV and embossing are not free inclusions
Foil coverage and tooling, UV areas, emboss/deboss tooling and registration add specification decisions. Request a basic print version and one or two finish alternatives on the same carton. Do not compare a plain high-volume price with a premium low-volume finished pack and assume the supplier is quoting the same product.
Compare quantity per design—not only the total
An order of 5,000 cartons split across ten artworks differs from 5,000 of one artwork. List size changes, shade/fragrance variants, language versions and variable information. Ask whether common tooling or shared print layouts are feasible; do not assume a saving before the manufacturer checks it.
A transparent quotation breakdown
Ask for: carton and insert unit price; sample/prototype charges; die/tooling or plate charges where applicable; printing and finish scope; packing; taxes; freight; quotation validity; and the approval event from which production timing is calculated. ₹3–4 is not a delivered, tax-inclusive promise unless the written quotation explicitly states that scope.
Use design choices to discuss cost—not fake instant estimates
Compare a simpler closure, smaller unused internal space, a standard board option, one accent finish or an adjusted quantity with the team. None guarantees a saving. The website prepares a comparable brief; it does not have an approved live costing engine and will not invent an instant price.
Before you order
Can I order a gold-foiled lipstick carton at ₹3–4?
It requires a quotation. Size, board, quantity per artwork, foil area and setup may make the job different from the basic starting-price scenario.
Are GST, freight and tooling included?
Do not assume they are. Request each item and any exclusions in writing.
Can you quote without final artwork?
An initial scope discussion is possible. A firm production price needs the relevant artwork coverage, dieline, finishes and quantities to be confirmed.
