Plan the specification. Understand the price.
Rigid box pricing: size, quantity and print.
Compare the factors behind a custom rigid box quote, then use our magnetic-box estimate as a starting point. We manufacture in Okhla, Delhi, for startups and corporate teams across India.

What is included in the box price?
| Cost input | Why it changes the quote | What to provide |
|---|---|---|
| Size and construction | Material area, components and assembly differ | Usable internal size and opening style |
| Core board and wrap | Board and paper choices differ | Material direction or approved sample |
| Print and decoration | Setup, dies and finishing work vary | Artwork and separate effect areas |
| Insert | Cavities and covered holders add work | Each product size and weight |
| Quantity | Setup is spread across the run | Units per size and artwork |
| Packing and delivery | Volume and destination affect freight | Postcode, packing method and arrival date |
Separate one-time and per-box charges
A useful comparison separates structural development, samples and tooling from recurring production costs where applicable. Then compare packing, freight and applicable taxes on the same basis. A lower unit price can exclude a component or charge that another quotation includes. Ask what changes on a repeat order and whether existing tooling can be reused.
Why order quantity matters
Material purchase, print setup, finishing dies and assembly preparation affect the feasible minimum quantity. Ordering several artworks in a combined total may still require separate setups. You can request matched quotes at quantities such as 500, 1,000 or 3,000 units to understand the cost change; these are comparison examples, not a published minimum or guaranteed production offer.
Ways to review the budget
Do not reduce the insert or board solely to reach a price before checking the loaded sample. The selected pack needs to work for the actual product and delivery route.
- Compare two opening styles using the same product and inside holder.
- Review whether a decorative effect is needed on every surface.
- Avoid unnecessary empty space after product fit is approved.
- Separate required protection from optional presentation components.
- Confirm all artwork versions early to reduce avoidable rework.
Send this quote brief
Product: name, complete dimensions and weight. Box: inside length × width × height in mm, style and material direction. Branding: artwork, colours, foil, emboss or spot UV areas. Inside: insert type and cavity count. Order: units per version, sample requirement, delivery postcode and required date. Include a reference photo if available.
Why changing box dimensions changes the price
Specify usable internal length × width × height, with the unit clearly stated. Internal dimensions allow product-fit planning; external dimensions and packed-carton sizes matter for transport. Board thickness, wrap, lining and the insert occupy space between the two.
For example, changing a 200 × 150 × 60 mm box to 200 × 150 × 100 mm adds depth while keeping its footprint. Taller walls, a deeper cavity and a larger shipping pack may change cost. This is a specification example, not a quotation or a fixed percentage increase. Sheet layout, material yield and construction also affect the result.
Compare one change at a time
| Comparison | Hold constant | Review |
|---|---|---|
| Two internal sizes | Quantity, board, opening style and finish | Material area, sheet yield, insert and packed volume. |
| 500 versus 1,000 units | Size, artwork and all components | Setup allocation, production efficiency and total order spend. |
| Outside print versus inside and outside | Size, run and construction | Additional surfaces, print setup and wrapping work. |
| One cavity versus several | Product protection needs and outer style | Insert material, cut layout, layers and fitting work. |
| Assembled versus collapsible | Product and presentation requirement | Box cost, storage, insert supply and assembly labour. |
How quantity affects setup cost per box
If an unchanged setup cost is spread across 1,000 boxes instead of 500, the setup allocation per box halves. The complete unit price does not necessarily halve: materials, printing, assembly and other recurring costs still apply. Separate sizes or artworks can require separate setups. These quantities are comparison examples, not a universal minimum order.
Read the complete quotation
Ask for production quantity × unit price, applicable development, sample or tooling charges, packing, freight and taxes on a consistent basis. Confirm whether the insert, inside printing and finishing are included.
Compare drawer rigid boxes, magnetic rigid boxes and collapsible rigid boxes against matched requirements. Review custom cavities and print options before requesting a final quote.
The calculator below estimates its stated magnetic-box inputs. It does not capture every insert, structural detail, artwork version or delivery requirement. A written quotation confirms the complete specification and exclusions.
Questions before you order
Can I get an instant final rigid box price?
A reliable custom quote needs the complete specification. Any preliminary estimate should state its assumptions and be confirmed before an order.
Do you offer low MOQ rigid boxes?
Share your required quantity and design for feasibility review. A universal low minimum is not promised across custom sizes, artwork and finishes.
Is a sample cost included in production?
Ask for the sample scope, charge and any adjustment against a later order in the written quotation.

Made in Okhla. Delivered across India.
A small first order. A bigger brand ambition.
From startup launches to corporate packaging programmes, our 50+ team works across 3 factories in Okhla Industrial Area, Delhi, with in-house design and production.
Your timeline, clearly planned
| Order stage | Planning indication |
|---|---|
| Minimum order | 200 pieces |
| Sampling | About 2 days |
| Production after artwork and sample approval | About 1 week |
| Larger or complex programmes | Specification-based production and batch dispatch schedule |
Final lead time depends on box size, construction, material availability, printing, finishing and approved samples. Production and transit are separate; your written quote confirms both. Large programmes are assessed and scheduled in batches.
